WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files sent by a website to the user’s terminal (usually the browser), where they are stored and re-transmitted to the website on the same user’s next visit. A cookie cannot refer to any other item of data on the user’s hard drive, transmit viruses or acquire email addresses. Every cookie is unique to the user’s browser. Some functions of cookies may be transferred to other technologies. In this document, the term ‘cookie’ refers both to cookies in the normal sense of the word, and to all similar technologies.

The use of cookies makes it possible to record information about your preferences, such as pages viewed, files downloaded from our website or other similar actions carried out while navigating our website.

FIRST AND THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Cookies can be first-party or third-party; “first-party” refers to cookies developed by the owner of the website itself, while “third-party” refers to cookies developed by third parties, rather than the owner of the website.

TYPES OF COOKIES
There are several types of cookies:

Technical cookies
Technical cookies are those used solely for the purpose of “carrying out the transmission of a communication on an electronic communications network, or insofar as this is strictly necessary to the provider of an information society service that has been explicitly requested by the contracting party or user to provide said service” (article 122, paragraph 1 of the Privacy Code).

They are not used for any other purposes and are normally installed directly by the owner or manager of the website. They can be divided into:

– Browsing or session cookies, which enable normal navigation and use of the website (e.g. allowing users to make purchases or identify themselves in order to access restricted areas); these are in fact necessary for the correct functioning of the website;

– Analytics cookies, similar to technical cookies when used directly by the manager of the webside to collect aggregated information regarding the number of users and they way they visit the website, in order to improve the functioning of the site;

– Functionality cookies, which allow the user to navigate the website on the basis of a series of selected criteria (e.g. language, products selected for purchase) in order to improve the services provided to users. Prior consent is not required from users for this installation of this type of cookie (more information in the paragraph “Managing Cookies” below).

Profiling cookies
Profiling cookies are aimed at creating user profiles and are used to send advertising messages in line with the preferences shown by the user during their navigation on the web.

The user’s consent must be requested for the use of profiling cookies. According to regulation 229 of 8 May 2014, the user must be able to give or refuse consent to the installation of profiling cookies when these are present.

In the case of third-party cookies, the website does not have direct control over individual cookies and cannot monitor them (it cannot install them directly or delete them). However, you can manage this type of cookies through your browser settings (follow the instructions given below), or via the websites listed in the “Managing Cookies” section.

Users are therefore invited to consult the website of the third party indicated below.

DURATION OF COOKIES, the duration of cookies is dictated by their expiry date (or by a specific action such as closing the browser); this is set at the time of installation. Cookies may be:

  • temporary or sessional (session cookies): these are used to store temporary information or link actions carried out during a particular session, and are deleted from the computer when the browser is closed;
  • permanent (persistent cookies): these are used to store information such as username and password, in order to prevent the user from having to enter them again each time he or she visits a given website. They are stored in the computer even after the browser has been closed.

Once the connection to this website has ended, session cookies are not stored. The digital systems used by this website use temporary cookies only.

Such a function only means your browsing data is not saved.

Alternatively, you can disable/delete cookies via your browser’s settings panel.

ACCEPTING AND REFUSING COOKIES, by browsing this website, closing the informative banner or clicking on or scrolling any part of the page to view further content, you accept our Cookie Policy, and cookies will be installed and collected. If you decline to accept cookies by leaving the site, any cookies already installed locally on your browser will remain stored there but will not be read or used by us unless and until the Policy is subsequently accepted. You can remove such cookies at any time by the methods stated above.
